MEDIA ADVISORY - Gov. Brewer to encourage ABOR's support of FY14 budget proposal

(Tempe, Ariz.) – In remarks before the Arizona Board of Regents at its upcoming meeting this week, Governor Jan Brewer will encourage the Board to support her FY14 state budget proposal and Medicaid expansion plan. The FY14 budget recommends $58.6 million in new money for Arizona’s public universities. The Medicaid proposal will bring $1.6 billion to the state in enhanced federal matching funds which will greatly reduce pressure on the state budget and constitutional priorities such as higher education.
