Student Regent Aydin-Kane Vo was appointed to the Arizona Board of Regents by Gov. Katie Hobbs on April 24, 2026.

Regent Vo is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and graduated summa cum laude. 

As an undergraduate student, he served as Senator and Chairman of Government Operations for ASU’s Student Government. As a Graduate Research and Training Fellow at ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Regent Vo helps teach engineering students, providing mentorship and support with their coursework. His leadership and dedication have been recognized with several awards, including ASU’s Moeur Award for academic excellence and Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.

In addition to his leadership and teaching experience, Regent Vo is engaged in research at ASU focused on engineering and health care applications. He has worked on projects supported by federal agencies, industry partners and health care organizations, centered on biomechanics, human performance and medical device design. His work has contributed to multiple academic research publications being submitted to journals in biomechanics, sports medicine, ergonomics and orthopedics.
